My Fios
Verizon Fios Account App
When I first joined Verizon, the first project I was given was to redesign the Fios account app. The Fios account app allows customers to manage their account preferences and settings, manage their services and plans, pay their bill, manage their Wi-Fi, view call logs, listen to voicemail, troubleshoot issues or chat with our AI chat experience, live agents and more.
For this project I worked in a small product team of a business lead, a technical lead (iOS developer) and a designer (myself). I was able to work with all the necessary stakeholders to align on business and technical goals while designing for the user. With that small team, the app launched to market within 6 months.
At the start of the project I spent time auditing the existing app and taking inventory of all the necessary content and functionality. This exercise primarily focused on organizing the app and grouping types of content in areas that made sense for the customer. I also took stock of the Verizon brand guidelines as well as other apps that where in the pipeline for style cohesion across the Verizon ecosystem as well as designing for platform.
Because there was no consistent source or tools for designers and developers to communicate and align on look and feel with a style guide and component library, I manually organized all the bare bone necessary elements for the working team to get started before finally implementing modern workflow tools across all Fios projects.
Today the app continues through iterative cycles and maintains a 4.5 average app store rating with 1.126M monthly active users.
